Situations for the Songs
But I feel the songs are perfect blend of Rahman and Rajni. While it gets as trademark Thalaivar in Balleilakka, it goes to something Rajni would never have done had it not been for Rahman (and maybe Director Shankar to a certain extent). Anyway I shall list them all and meanwhile try to guess as to what kind of situation it would fit into (incidentally I would certainly have to mention that I discussed this with my good friend and she kinda reflects my thoughts).
So here goes (since I am getting to the point here, I am wondering whether the above would constitute as digression enough?? or...............maybe not!!)---
Definitely the first song of the movie is going to be Balleilakka..... this is without a doubt the Thalaivar's Intro Song. It has all ingredients for the same and super S.P.B has belted out a solid fun fille number. A Rajni's song out and out and the only Trace of Rahman probably is in the start of the song where the background women chorus goes--- Suriyano Chandirano Yaarivano sat unnu sollu!!! (The start is a little similar to Veerapandi Kottaiyile from Thiruda Thiruda, I mean just the way it starts)
After this I certainly have no idea about when each of songs come in the movie, but I can certainly visualize the situations!
Next lets consider Athirade-- A fast catchy number and when I try and think about this, the only explanation it gives is the item number song that Nayanthara is supposed to be doing. Although its not a sole lady singer, so maybe some1 else too accompanying her!
Third lets have a look at the most radical Oru Koodai Sunlight!! This song is a complete antithesis of every single song Rajni has ever done. While Maya Maya from Baba might be quite Rahmanesque, that does not even come close to being radically different for Rajni. But then if people had seen some of stills where in Rajni and Shreya come in a very radical looking costumes, it perfectly fits this song. So I am pretty darn sure that this song is for that stills which were leaked.
Sahana and Vaaji Vaaji appear to be regular romantic duets, with Vaaji Vaaji being the one where in Rajni appears in some king like costumes (again observed in some stills). Sahara which is the slower version of Sahana seems to be one for a more sombre times which would surely be probably a background during a time when the hero and heroine probably have a separation due to/or misunderstanding.
This finally leaves us with The Boss....... Just doesn't make sense. Its not quite the song that is Vetri Kodi Kattu from Padaiyappa, when the Hero is on the rise. But then when looked at it from a background score for Rajni in the movie, it suddenly seems to make quite all the sense. So I am pretty much sure this is a background score for some of smashing entries in some scenes that Rajni will have. Remember Rajni being Rajni, he has multiple mind-blowing entries in lots of scenes, recall Padaiyappa??? What a re-entry that was!!!
Imagine a very stylish Rajni come in and a background score going-- Sachin adicha sixer thaan da, Sivaji adicha Puncture thaan da :D.
SO that's that, all songs given a situation in the movie. This is my guesstimate, and I am pretty sure this is close to what we can expect in the movie, that said, don't whip me if I am wrong. I am just trying to feed the Sivaji fever and pour more fuel into the fire. A little something more to look forward for the movie!!
Until then listen to the songs, enjoy and wait eagerly!!!!!!!!!

Its really nice to get another pure tamil one from Thamarai, Hats off…
I would like to add one more thing, in this song, you may encounter a word “andril”, which means andril bird :whether male or female, very familiar in Indian poetry, as a standard or model of constancy and inseparable love;

Rajni and double Intro!!!
I got this in my mind when I was listening to his latest song from one of his most anticipated and awaited releases (btw which movie of Rajni isn't highly anticipated and eagerly awaited??). Probably this has to do with Rajni + Shankar (Director) + AVM Studios + A.R.Rehman (sheesh!! probably every single release of Ilaiyaraja- the Maestro, didn't get this kinda bated breath anticipation).
So anyway coming back to what I was saying (if you didn't notice that previous paragraph was completely devoted to my digression), almost all his songs have the first word repeating right behind.
Lets take a look shall we??
Going all the way back to Baasha-- naan (the relatively obscure little first word) Autokaran, Autokaran......
Then Muthu -- Oruvan Oruvan..........
Baba-- Dippu Dippu........ (Here the word Dippu repeats 4 times!!)
Chandramukhi-- Devuda Devuda.........
and now Shivaji-- Balleilakka Balleilakka............
Yes you do have a Arunachalam in between where he goes- Adaanda Idaanda (They rhyme and are very close to each other) and Padaiyappa (Yen Paeru Padaiyappa- being the only no relations to any of the words ever...), but as evidenced by and large the first word always repeats itself right behind!!
I am not here to offer you any explanation for the same. Just that the jobless mind of mine when enjoying the latest song which is quite catchy and makes you want to dance, caught up this thought and I decided to profit by it and blog the same.
Until next time keep pondering on the same and wait to watch whether the next one follows this trend too and till then dance to the tunes of Balleilakka Balleilakka.......................

The Adidas Ad
"Impossible is just big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they’ve been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It’s an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It’s a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary.
IMPOSSIBLE is NOTHING!"
It was a dare indeed and struggling to find a job was no longer Impossible. Because it was nothing. It renewed my optimism (I am a born optimist, but I think after 11months of struggle, any1 is capable of being frustrated), it gave me to hold on and fight for just that longer, face the storm and move on.
Yes it was temporary and ultimately nothing and here I am sitting with a job by His Grace and talking about it!!!!!

resolutions... the anti climax!!
I basically wanted a Mp3 player for a long time, but just that I wasn't prepared to spend money on it. So I had to wait, and wait painstaking for a long time. Not that i was in any hurry though. Just because the majority of the world was moving forward to the Mp3 player zone, I didn't have to follow the bandwagon. Also I do have to state that I am always slow and wait for a long time to catch up with a fad by which time its a fad no longer. So basically at that point my wish to own something is not to be a part of the fad but for my satisfaction. Again, I would probably go to lengths as to acquire it by least expensive means as possible. That's not a fact of me being a miser, its just that, quite a few of those things, I view as not being a necessity at all. Really its a luxury rather than a necessity and there is no reason to blow money on it right?? So if its possible that you can get one by simply waiting for much longer time and paying lesser money or no money at all why hurry??
So there is this credit card that gives me points for all the purchases, and with points I can redeem for whatever I wish for. So all I had to do was wait till I accrued enough to get an Mp3 player. Simple isn't it. And we make the points through daily regular purchases, that are necessities!!
MORAL of the Story:- Patience yields better rewards (ya like you needed some1 else to tell you this right!! I know I know, I am beating my chest and proclaiming that I am intelligent- talk about narcissism!!)
There is though a resolution within this resolution itself (sheeshh sounds like a lot of looping-like in a computer program). The resolution was, whatever the Mp3 player is its not going to be an iPod!!
So for all those who assumed when I spoke of MP3 player that its an iPod-- that's a testament to how much Apple has captured the market in that segment!! I thought of Zune, but as crappy as that player is, I dropped the idea in a hurry (no I am not going to talk about Zune's Pros n Cons- read a review for the same, and this isn't one!!). So since my wont was a larger capacity MP3 player (i certainly didn't need a nano, the larger bulkier ones are really no issue to me, again the cost of nano for lesser capacity for just the reason it being smaller makes no sense to me. I need a higher return for my dollar spent- a higher ROI if you will, and a 30gig-at least makes good sense), I hunted for alternatives and the result?????????????????
A CREATIVE ZEN VISION M 30GB!!
Yes slightly thicker than iPod, but more features, brighter more vibrant screen, and a better player (not cos I own it, cos almost all reviews say so!! and not by much, still it is at least as good as iPod if you want to be different). Just to give you a hint look at all user reviews in circuit city website for reference as a starter. Oh yeah, it doesn't hurt to get the best MP3 player of 2006 award from cnet too! So there a alternative for all those who seek to be different!!
I seek to be different, because as Thalaivar would say..............................................
"Yen Vazhi Thanee Vazhi" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK A NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!............and resolutions!
What better topic than when a New Year presents itself (come to think of it, I am wondering how many blogs has been written about the same topic, but not that, that is going to stop me, will it??).. so here goes.. (did I say this before????)
So there we have, another year blown past, another year, that simply was in too much hurry to go somewhere (or catch a train)!! Well that the general consensus anyway! While for most people that is the case, I somehow beg to differ. They say (who are 'They'??) that when everything is going fine, things tends to speed up and when nothing is going right, the time just grinds to a halt! Its like the second needle never moves?? Is this even possible?? You know as well as I do its all perspective isnt it?? But that said, I do have to say I felt that the year for me moved slowly (ya ya I know after all that talk about perspective, I dont have the right to say it, but heck I am human too :P). I have had friends who atrribute this to me getting old (smug look on the face- people who said this would know). Well thats their perspective (Here now I begin my customary habit of digressing- I have used the word perspective soo much already here, that maybe I need to change title to "New Year and Perspective", but I won't). Why exactly did I feel this way?? well for one, I was waiting for the last quarter of the year to go to India and ppl who are abroad can understand how much the yearning to go to home country one always feels, dont they?? Its like the mother ship is calling us home (wondering, since our home land is often referred to as motherland, is that why the parent ship got the female gender?? Oh, well the inanimate objects and their genders).
Now why exactly did I have to wait till last quarter?? Duh!! Well for all those who know me, they know my reasons, and for all those who dont, I dont think they would be interested in my reasons, so I will leave it at that.
At this point you are probably wondering that this guy was to talk about resolutions and there is nothing about it till now (well I will get to it, also this way I can drag the blog to sizeable proportions :D-- there a long word starting with 'p' and not the word perspective... Oh Darn it!!)
So yes, coming to resolutions?? Whats with all this New Year resolutions anyway?? Who started this trend or custom or whatever you wish to call it (I certainly would like to pound that person). Why is the need to identify to do or to resolve to do something from a New year day only?? What ever happened to the sound byte of 'Right Here Right Now'?? Sant (translated-saint) Kabir famous for his Dohaes (two line verses) once said 'Kal Kare so Aaj Kar, Aaj Kare So Ab! (Do today what you put off to do tomorrow, and do it now what you are going to do today) Simply put, the same Right Here Right now!! (Now maybe some1 who understood this Great Man's Dohaes and translated in a catchy manner for the English audience, I am pretty sure no one knows who came up with this 'right here right now' catchphrase do they??)
So why the resolution to wait for New Year anyway?? Is it like an added incentive to goof off till then?? If so are resolutions generally met when taken on New Year's?? Statistically (now dont ask me which statistics and from where) more than 70% of New Year resolution are never made good, so if at all you are going to break it, why wait?? Additionally if you are going to be successful, then why wait too??
Never really makes sense to me and I am beginning to feel that I am beating around the bush. Anyway, I did not have a New Year resolution, but did have a resolution, and it was met on New Year (now isnt that nice to have a resolution and meet it on New Year's, that way we can remember when we acheived it). It was more fun that way!! and the New Year was off to a great start and good feeling!
Signing off all smiles and grins!!

Joy of capturing a good view

All my previous attempts were with a cheapo flimsy tripod of mine which was soo bad that a wind gust would have probably toppled it off. A reasonable wind certainly shook the tripod basically taking care that even though I did not hold the camera, there would be 'camera shake' involved. So much for using a tripod *rolls eyes*.
Anyway, so after buying the new tripod, I just had to try it one more time, especially since I was moving much farther away from the city to south bay and to commute to capture this image would be a total bore as it would require me to drive for 45mins or more maybe. So there we go, at around midnight, when the water in the bay was calm (and the fate finally deciding to give me a break and smile on me), I got this result. So pleased was I to see this result, that I just didnt want to return back at that time, I moved on to twin peaks, kept exploring for more shots and spent a night roaming around and get some more. So finally I am kinda happy with the result I was seeking. Also tagged along a friend so that it would appear as if I was showing him around and also I would have some company in the cold night. Looks like the stars were aligned perfectly that night, or maybe I should say the lights were aligned and the water still!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eragon!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For people who are interested here is a gist of what the three part story is all about (Yes Inheritance is a three part story but not a trilogy). I must remind folks that Lord of the Rings is a story told in three parts too and not a trilogy. Among the most famous trilogies are The Godfather, the original Star Wars (the three parts that were added much later is sometimes called prequel trilogy), Indiana Jones and Back to the Future series.
Harry Potter on the other hand is a Heptalogy ( a seven part story, although the stories are generally with the sole common link being good v/s evil). The only other possible Heptology that I recollect is Chronicles of Narnia.
Anyway (after my customary digression of the topic) so Dec 15th Eragon is releasing. The second part is called Eldest and the third part is unnamed as of now which would be the concluding part of the series. The wonderful thing about this novel series is that is written by a person called Christopher Paolini. Heard of him?? Evidently not!! Its no surprise that Tolkien is his inspiration and I think I should mention that he is just 23years old. Paolini created and wrote Eragon (published independently by his parents) at the age of 19. Heck I was struggling to get through my bachelors at that age and this kid writes a best seller.
Inheritance is set in a fantasy land (obviously!! what you were expecting England??) called Alagaësia. This land was inspired by the place where he lives-Paradise Valley (suffice to say this much, I think for more and probably accurate information, you would be better off reading wikipedia if interested. This way I probably wont be giving too much of plot away. So happy reading and viewing folks!!

Blame it on Devdas
Shave at 12:30???
Well in my defense my logic was that I was not getting any sleep and I might as well shave and sleep an extra 15minutes in the morning (who doesn’t love to sleep an extra 15mins in the morning?)
Her expected response was Oh God!!... in the native tongue of course (speaking of which, have you ever noticed how easy its for people to type in English yet when u read it, its totally in the native tongue. Not only is it easy to type, its also easy for the other person to read….but oh anyway, back to where we were!!).
Well so I went into the bathroom and stared at the half beard on my face (it certainly was much more than a simple stubble, it was a proper 6 day half beard-that’s what we can call it) at about 1am and very wide awake at that point. But somehow the thought of splashing my face with water at that wee hour wasn’t enticing (yaa like its Bips in Dhoom-2 calling me.. *rolls eyes*. Oh Btw don’t waste your time on Dhoom-2, its nothing more than a Captain’s movie. You might as well download and leer at the person u wish to leer).
So with that half beard I roll into my bed and try to sleep…. and for some reason I just couldn’t sleep at all. It was then I realized that since its already pretty late, there is a very great chance I would wake up late and was wondering whether to sport a bearded look. On that thought, I went about speculating the reaction from the people. Some would just ask the explanation for the beard but yet a majority of people’s reaction would be—love failure??
Oh what nonsense?? Can’t a guy just sport a beard for the heck of it or to change his look?? BLAME IT ALL ON DEVDAS.. that’s right the lovelorn drunkard who destroyed his life and brought a bad name for the beard.
At this juncture I was trying to think of the explanation as to why people would assume so. That would most likely be that there are not much famous personalities who sport a beard and walk around. Even Albert Einstein wore a proper shaved looks. Speaking of the man… he could not spare time to set his the now famous unkempt hair, but had enough time to shave his beard (which apparently takes more time no matter how bad your hair can be). So right now my two attempts to Google (trust the Google company to take its name and coin it as a verb and also get accepted in the dictionary. Orkut is another example… anyway before I digress.. I do have to agree I digress a lot. Well getting back) up some famous personalities with beard has resulted in pretty much a negative response.
Oh well I did remember Dr.Manmohan Singh, but he is a Sikh and almost ever Sikh sport one (again digress…. I guess it’s in the genes of the Sikhs to be able to grow a full beard!! How does the bloody testosterone in a Sikh know that it needs to have more hairy characteristics?). Also how bad was I to forget Abraham Lincoln. I am wondering if we should take a poll around the country of
So anyway as u can see, that not many famous people with beard are/were around, which brings us back to….. why did the poor beard get such a bad name as to be associated with lovelorn poor men?? I guess we should go about and try to change that conception.
Need to add a Disclaimer that I am talking of a full beard, not goatee or French beard which got pretty famous. There are of course many more types- the Sideburns, Van Dyck, chinstrap and what not. Search Wikipedia (This is not yet a verb) for more answers.

The wonderful Flying experience.
Anyway was looking forward after all this time away from the home country, departed on 14th Oct and reached Singapore uneventfully (actually a wonderful flight experience aboard the Singapore Airlines) on 16th Oct morning 1am. The next connecting flight via Singapore airlines would mean a 19hr halt in Singapore and I was not at all interested in staying for such a long time. So took the much earlier Indian Airlines out of Changi Airport (Singapore Intl Airport) scheduled to depart at 7:50am. Well it was scheduled to depart, while in reality it was "re-timed" to depart at 11:50am. A cool 4 hr delay with no explanation whatsoever. The only thing offered was a measly breakfast coupon with which you could obtain yourself a a small dessert or a simple bun.
Coming to the flight itself--
Sing-BLR.
This was the earliest flight out of Singapore to BLR (the other otion was to wait until 8pm in evening to catch a SA to BLR) wanted to reach early hence took this flight.
The flight was "re-timed" to a 4hour delay and no explanation whatsoever was given. Finally got on board only to find the seats broken and of course the AC in the flight being a complete non-AC. Food was pretty average (Singapore Airlines served a better Indian Food than this crappy airlines). Absolutely no IFE to speak of, not even a distance single TV. All you could do was sleep. This was near impossible as the plane was shaking uncontrollably, in all possible degrees of freedom (It felt like they were trying to rip your innards out). They lacked even the basic amenities such as making sure that all passengers had an air-sickness bag with them. The result- people puked all over the aisle (you would expect that with the plane shaking repeatedly violently).
I am a guy with mild air-sickness but too much air travel over the past 5months was what just about kept me from throwing up. I was sweating profusely though and at the end was just freverently praying for a touchdown in Bangalore.
Lastly they stewardesses went about sparying some sort of aerosol in the plane and an announcement was made that this is safe. It was utterly ridiculous and I had never seen this before in any flight. It smelt more like a room freshener. At the end of it all, I was simply glad to make it out of the plane in one piece and not throw up. Me being a citizen of India am ashamed at the kind of service the country's airlines industry offers.
All this after an incredible flight in Singapore airlines from SFO to Singapore.
Never again do I plan to set foot in this airlines, I dont mind shelling out extra dollars and waiting the extra time, but its a definite no-no into Indian Airlines.
A total experience (not in a good way though) for the last sector of the journey. Boy was I glad that I am flying Singapore airlines all the way on my return leg. That was an excellent journey!!

Ab Dilli Door Nahin!!
I dont know, maybe it was writer's block, maybe it was no motivation, or simply maybe I was just plain lazy!!! Bottom line, I just didnt do justice at all to this wonderful location.
This is an attempt to change it........................
What is this about???? As the title says, Delhi is not far now, yes, not far.... not in distant future, but a more closer forseeable one!!!
More than 3 years it has been.......
After Aug 22nnd, I never realised that it would have to wait this long, never realised that setting foot on our soil is going to an eon!!!
The day I got some of my best roommates, that was the last time I was in India.................
Last time until now, until this year.................. until this week!!
Finally its all changed..... Never knew the route to India the next time after Aug 2003 would take a de tour through Canada, through Vancouver but it has, this is how it had to happen!!!!!
I would just like to share with you all the good feeling, actually a more relieved feeling that my visa stamping is finally done, finally I can leave the country and return in peace, and finally I get to go to India again after this long break!!
October 5th thursday I got my visa in vancouver, a relatively uneventful one at that. He literally saw no document except my employment verification letter and all he asked me was whether I completed my studies in USA, and what is my current work about. That was it, a short very brief but a smooth ride and after that I was set free to go and enjoy the joyous beauty of Vancouver. That completed, I confirmed my ticket to travel to India. I am leaving on saturday the 14th October (yes coming saturday) and return 3 weeks after. Its going to be another short trip, but hopefully it will be a pleasant one this time.
Meanwhile, I guess its time I end this one, until next time, and hopefully this time too in the near forseeable future, I bid adieu to one and all!!!!!!!!!

................and so the year ends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What am I rambling about here??????? or am I??? Today, after a wonderful, incredibly happy 6months time. Parents boarded the flight of Cathay Pacific, bound to Singapore enroute to Bangalore which would take them back to where it all started from....... and to the place where i never wanted it to get..... they have returnd back to India!!!!
Returned back to India...... leaving with me a feeling of emptiness.... in the house, in the car, everywhere around!!!! It would take some time to get back to normalcy, until then a void has been created......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But I am going to turn.. move ahead..... if necessary forge through.... I have got by tougher times, this would pass too... A silent resolve within myself that I shall see them again, in less than a year's time... I will make it happen.......I will see them again before the year ends........
................meanwhile I hope they have fun time in Singapore and reach bangalore safely! After all, they yearn for their siblings tooo...... Much as I miss them, they would miss me too!!! Going back to cheerful surroundings. would ease them... and its just a matter of fone call away!!!!
The year of 2005...........................one I will always cherish!!!! always.....always.......yes always!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh those Golden Days!!!!!
NO worries, no tensions, no responsibilities, but still old enough to understand everything and completely enjoy life... now thats the time thats going to be with a person forever!! What was I doing that those years..... wel according to official record I was doing my bachelors... Bachelors in Engg. ........................ in truth, i was freaking out on life!!!
Sriram, one of my closest friend, and most importantly my partner in crime during those years.... previously in the class of 10th. Those five years has been a real laugh riot.... starting from making fun of almost every1 to even resorting to eating in school during class.... yes in 10th, in maths class, in the class of teacher who used to pride herself that not one student has in him/her to set a toe out of line, was given scant respect........ The supposed rank students getting yelled at for eating....or should I say dare to eat Mysore Pak (a sweet dish in south India for those who donot know), while chapathis, dosas, idlies were comfortably gobbled down by the criminals sitting in second row. Though I must accept she was a teacher beyond par excellence..........
That was 10th grade..................... now imagine the BE years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ridiculed for sitting in 1st bench all throughout the study of B.E none realised that its the perfect place to have all the fun you want while portraying the picture of being extremely studious student, which resulted in never being caught!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can you beat that record???? Never BEEN CAUGHT!!!!
.............................to be contd!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Too early or too late!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Too Early??
Too Late??
Just right... who knows..... the moment the writer (at least i can assume so) is out of blocks.... a blog will appear..... no particular reason for this blog..... typing on the fly is certainly fun...
It comes naturally for some people to just keep on penning without a concrete thought, a regulated topic.... just write..... for no particular reason, for no particular person!!!! i guess all i needed for this is a lot of spare time and some drive to sit and blabber to no end!!!
Coming to this blog, there is a fair degree of writers block... hence the no aim, no destination chitter here. This makes me think!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How do the regular blogger keep it up??
Dont they ever face writer's Block??
Dont they ever run out of topics??? What do i have to do to retain the thought??
Y'day night in bed the words just flowed.... now, not a single drop or recollection of that topics..
zilch..none..nada..... just darkness....... and silence.... sooo loud that i can hear it echoing all over the place...............................just silence...............................................................................

Getting on the bandwagon
Yet another blogger, who has jumped the bloggin bandwagon!!! Ya like it makes a big difference huh????
Consider total number of blogger to be a very large number= 'n' add another blogger and it becomes 'n+1' so its still a very large number, so this blogger can well be neglected.... well depends on how you look at it, whether you choose to read or neglect, I am finally in.
The thought of blogging was germinating for a loong loong time in my mind, but talk about taking the level of procrastination to new heights.... so much soo that ideas that were there in my mind were erased. But now, just like that, with a sudden spark this blog has been created....any driving force-you ask, I say not, I know not. One fine day I enter my office, log into the system, check my e-mails and I decide this is it, I am blogging now.. talk about impulse decisions.this one takes the cake huh??
So there we have it, another blogger, another guy who has the capacity to ramble on (at least he thinks he can ramble.. only time will tell!!!) ... calling it reflections of dangerous mind (dangerous, foolish, irrasicble what ever mind....... as long as there is a mind) and about to set out on a journey thats new to him, but along a path that has been trodden soo many times that u can see a clear walkway along the meadow of grass.
So let the ride begin..............................................................................................................
